Bell De la Vega’s sculptural reliefs explore the moment when forms appear to emerge from the surface of matter. Figures, animals, and organic presences rise from textured fields, suggesting transformation, memory, and latent energy within the material.
Working primarily with drywall compound and mixed media, she reclaims a construction material as a sculptural medium, creating surfaces where presence seems to awaken from within the structure itself.
